Training in Organisation

Equipping leaders and teams to protect mental health, grow with grief and
PERFORM at their best.

Most workplace mental health support waits for the crisis. Protection over reaction turns that around. Instead of only responding once someone is signed-off sick or already struggling, we equip your people to protect wellbeing and support one another early, when it makes the most difference.

It matters, because at any moment around 1 in 5 of your people is grieving a significant loss. They are masking it, performing through it, and often burning out because of it. Millennials are hit hardest, with 37% reporting they struggle to concentrate and 35% reporting lower productivity in the year after a loss. Your managers are the people best placed to help, and most of them have never been given a single hour of training on how, for grief or for mental health more widely.

Furthermore, over 20% of sick days are for mental health reasons…our proven work decreases this towards 0% promoting better productivity, performance and profit, all whilst prioritising people.

Our organisational training fixes that gap. We give leaders, managers and teams the mental health protection skills, grief literacy, language and practical confidence to support one another well, so difficulty stops quietly costing you performance, engagement and good people.

What your people will gain

  • Mental health protection: practical, preventative tools for keeping teams well, drawn from positive psychology and the PERFORM framework.
  • Grief literacy: understanding what grief actually is, how long it really lasts, and why it shows up as brain fog, absence and disengagement months after the funeral.
  • Compassionate conversation skills: what to say, what not to say, and how to have the conversation most managers dread.
  • Practical tools for supporting a colleague before, during and after difficulty, not just once a crisis has hit.
  • The PERFORM framework applied to real workplace situations, so support is proactive rather than reactive.

Formats

  • Half-day INSET or staff training, in person or online.
  • Full-day intensives for leadership teams.
  • Cohort programmes delivered over several weeks for embedding at scale.
  • Train the Trainer, certifying your own people to deliver internally with annual renewal.

Why train rather than just signpost

An EAP number on a poster is not support. It is a signpost that most grieving employees never use. Training builds capability inside your organisation, in the managers your people already trust and talk to every day. That is what actually changes outcomes, and it complements the Mental Health First Aider investment you have already made rather than replacing it.

“You’ve trained people to spot a crisis. We train them to prevent one.”

Training is led by consultant psychologist Tabby Kerwin MAPP and can stand alone or form part of a wider consultancy relationship, following a grief and mental health strategy audit.
